Chicken Hotshots Recipe + What Should You Eat First In Iftar And Why? | Ramadan Recipes |

So first of all RAMADAN KAREEN to everyone. Though I may not be regularly updating you with my Ramadan recipes, I shall try my best to share with you the recipes that I try.

What Should You Eat First In Iftar And Why?

I prefer having fruits in iftar because fruits, when eaten on an empty stomach, will absorb 100% nutrients and get digested quickly. On the contrary, eating oily/fried foods and junk food in iftar will increase your chances of bloating, stomach pains, indigestion, and gastric problems. Citrus fruits like grapefruit and oranges and fruits that hold more water content like watermelons and cantaloupes are very beneficial to health when breaking your fast. Do Not Worry! I'm not restraining you from enjoying other savories and Ramadan special delicacies. These fried foods should follow the fruits first and your iftar should end with a cup of hot beverage that should help you digest your food quicker and make you feel lighter.

This recipe is originally by Yes I Can Cook. Although my recipe isn't as similar to hers since I have made a few adjustments in the ingredients and the quantities but I'm pretty sure it tastes as delightful as the original recipe. This is the first time I tried it and it came out perfect. You'll need:

Ingredients

For the marinade:

-boneless chicken, diced- 500gm
-white pepper/black pepper- 1tsp
-chili flakes- 1/2 tsp
-dried oregano- 1/2 tsp
-ginger garlic paste- 1tsp
-salt- according to your preference
-soy sauce- 2tbsp
-chili sauce-2tsp
-plain vinegar- 2tbsp
-cornstarch- 2-3 tbsp
-1 egg, beaten

For the coating:

-chili breadcrumbs-1/2 cup
-All-purpose flour-1/2 cup
-paprika powder-1/2 tsp

1. In a large bowl, marinate the chicken cubes with the above ingredients. Cover and set it aside.

2. In another bowl mix the coating ingredients together.

3. Heat oil in a pan. Now coat the chicken cubes in the coating mixture and lay them on a plate.

4. Once the oil is heated well, drop the breaded chicken cubes in the oil and fry them until golden brown. Remove them from the oil and place them on an absorbent paper before serving with mayo or your favorite dips.

NOTE: If you want to preserve it for later use, then you can do so by storing it in a ziplock bag and putting it in a freezer. It can stay fresh for up to a month.
