Every drugstore selling it. Every celebrity using it.Youtuber advertising it. And every other person dying to buy and try it. What's the whole buzz about Korean beauty products? Surely it's about the efficacy and the unbelievable and mind-blowing results achieved after using these products, that have conquered the market, especially for women. Korean beauty products bring out the most desired results but ever wondered what's in there that helps achieve the results? The reason why Korean beauty products are so popular and in trend is due to their harsh-free, ingredients that are also simultaneously cruelty-free and eco-friendly compared to the other brands and companies. For centuries Koreans have relied on natural substances such as honey, rice, lemon, beans, and so on to apply onto their bodies as well as to consume. Let's look into some of the common skin care products and the ingredients that go into them.
If we talk about face creams, scrubs, and masks, it's usually the naturally derived plant-based substances such as rice, tea, and lemon that are most commonly used to make these products.
For example, rice has been used as a scrub for skin whitening and a gentle cleanser for hundreds of years.
Similarly, tea leaves due to their detoxifying properties have also been widely used that help rejuvenate and soothe the skin
In short, the products they use are commonly found around us and as they are made in clean surroundings using no harsh chemicals, it's possible for us to prepare them at home free of cost and in simple and easy steps.
I've decided to prepare a multipurpose face cream and scrub using rice as the main ingredient. The reason it's called multipurpose is that it will be helpful in treating several skin conditions effectively.
Let's see the ingredients you'll need:
Ingredients
➤1/2 cup soaked rice (use rice that is starchy and rich in carbohydrates)
➤1 tbsp Organic rose water
➤Aloe vera gel (optional)
1. Add enough water in a bowl and soak rice for an hour or two until they become tender.
2. Once the rice has become tender, add the soaked rice along with the water in a blender and blend well until you see the rice has become fine or scrub-like consistency.
3. Using a strainer, strain the rice water and separate the grainy rice. The filtered fine rice grains will be used as a scrub so store it in an air-tight jar.
4. Now for the rice water, pour it into a pan and on a slow flame cook it for about 10 mins or until you see the water starts to thicken. Once it has thicked enough or you get a cream-like consistency, switch off the flame.
5. Keep the cream thick enough because now you'll have to add the rose water. Aloe vera gel is totally optional or you can even substitute aloe vera gel for rose water.
The cream is ready now. Store it in an air-tight jar or a pump bottle dispenser which I feel is more suitable for storing this cream.
Directions to use:
1. The cream should be used as a face mask. Apply it evenly on the face and neck and leave it for 30 minutes before washing it off with cold water.
2. The scrub can be used for face hands as well as for the body.
3. Use the scrub and cream daily for a week and experience jaw-dropping benefits.
NOTE: Both the cream and the scrub can be stored in the fridge for a week.
