A Classy Belt Made From Scratch That Goes Perfectly With Any Dress In Just 10 Minutes

If you are a fashionista you'll very well know how to make any dress look appealing and beguiling. A good fashion sense is enough for you to make a simple dress look branded and extra-ordinary.

For a dress to look as pretty as a picture, it requires not just fittable stitching but also the perfect body figure, the color tone harmonizing your body complexion, the type of cloth used, etc. Besides that, to make a dress look smashing, sequins, stones, lacy design patches, nets, tassels, buttons, and other charms can be used.

I prefer to buy plain dresses and attach charms and adornments of my choice. It is an inexpensive and creative way of designing a dress by your choice. Gold and black is a fine combo. Gold chains, stones or hangings on a black cloth make it more than stunning.

If you wear loosely-fitted dresses then a good way of making a dress presentable is using belts which contrast with the color of your dress.

A simple DIY belt that I made goes perfectly with most of my dresses. All you need for this is:

💎Plain black cloth (preferably velvet)
(length: the size of your waist+ 3 inches for overlapping+ 1.5 inches on either side for folding, width: 4-5 inches)
💎Tarpaulin
(length: the size of your waist+ 3 inches for overlapping, width: 2.5 inches)
💎Golden Chain
💎Velcro (3 inches)
💎Fabric glue/UHU glue
💎Brush
💎Scissors

1. Measure your waist length and take 3 more inches extra for securing with velcro.

2. Place the tarpaulin cloth and cut the exact measurement as above.

3. Likewise, place the black cloth and cut with the above measurements but take 1.5 inches extra on either side. This will be for folding on the edges.

4. Now, fasten the black cloth with golden chain and move the chain to the center as in the picture.

5. Cut the tarpaulin in half. You have the two pieces, now cut vertices of one of the sides of both the pieces as shown in the picture.

6. Lay the black cloth strip fastened with the golden chain on the table neatly, and place the two tarpaulin pieces on the center such that the vertices are towards the end of the chain, as shown below.

7. Using a brush, apply glue to the tarpaulin. Gently and very neatly fold the black cloth from either side and the two ends and stick. Press firmly and wait for a few minute for the glue to dry.

8. Finish it with sticking the velcro on the extra 3 inches you left for overlapping aaaaand TADA!!! Your DIY Belt is ready in literally 10 minutes.
