DIY All Natural BEESWAX and CARROT LIP BALM By SHIREEN PAKARATH

All Natural BEESWAX and CARROT LIP BALM
This all-natural homemade lip balm can replace the store-bought ones which may contain mineral oil, synthetic fragrance, and coloring. It has healing and moisturizing properties which are a savior for chapped lips.

INGREDIENTS :
2 T. Unrefined and Filtered Beeswax grated
1 T. Carrot Infused Oil* or Coconut Oil
1 T. Unrefined and Filtered Shea butter
1 tsp. Raw Honey
1/8 tsp. Vitamin E Oil
6 drops Frankincense Essential Oil
Or any essential oil of your choice
10 (0.16 oz.) Clear Lip Balm Tubes
or  2-3 (1.5-2 oz.) Glass Lip Balm Pots

*To prepare carrot infused oil - Sundry 4-5 Tbsp of grated carrot. Put the dried carrot in a glass jar and pour in coconut oil(or equal amount of coconut oil and sweet almond oil) enough to cover the dried carrots. Now place this jar in a saucepan filled with 1.5 inches of water. Heat this in low flame to warm up the oil for 10- 15 mins. Be careful no steam or water gets into the jar of oil. Now take out the jar, put on the lid and leave it to infuse for at least one week. You will get a bright orange-colored oil.

♡ Carrot oil is rich in beta-carotene and vitamin A and E. It nourishes the skin, making it smooth and bright. Carrot oil peculiarity is that it increases the resistance of the skin to sunlight. It is one of the best natural skin lighteners. So using it in our lip balm can help in reducing lip discoloration and also impart sun protection.

♡ The hydrating properties of Shea Butter help to heal chapped lips.

♡ The Beeswax helps in locking in the moisture preventing drying and chapping of lips.

♡ Honey is a good humectant and has antimicrobial properties but it will not easily blend into the oils, good stirring may be required. You can omit it from this recipe.

♡ Frankincense gives a heavenly fragrance to the lip balm, moreover, it has cell regenerative properties that help keep lips smooth and supple.

♡ Last but not the least Vitamin E is an antioxidant that prevents cells from damage thus keeping lips protected.

BEESWAX LIP BALM MAKING INSTRUCTIONS
 1. In a heat-safe container put the measured beeswax, shea butter and carrot infused the oil.

2. Now melt this using the double boiler method. A double boiler typically consists of a flat-bottomed insert that fits snugly over a pan of simmering water; there is a gap between the water level and the bottom of the double boiler insert so the items in the top of the double boiler are heated by the steam from the liquid below, not the hot water.

3. Stir gently until the beeswax and shea butter are completely melted and mixed with the carrot infused the oil.

4. Now remove the container from double boiler and quickly stir in honey, vitamin E oil, and essential oil.

5. Carefully pour into lip balm tubes or pots.

6. Let it cool down completely and enjoy!

❥Pro Tip- when the lip balm cools it shrinks from the middle which is not appealing. So you can reserve a teaspoon of the lip balm. After the lip balm in the container cools completely you can reheat the reserved lip balm and pour it on top to level it off.
